We have two featured artists from Cantabile Chamber Singers: composer Ben J. Kim and baritone Paul Newman.
A native of South Korea, Ben J. Kim is an accomplished pianist, composer, arranger and singer. He is a graduate of Grinnell College where he studied biology and music, and has a Masters of Music degree from the University of Calgary. He also directs musical theatre and is establishing himself as an accompanist and sought after tenor in Toronto. This is his first season with Cantabile Chamber Singers.
Paul Newman is an accomplished singer and teacher. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where he studied voice with Lynn Blaser. Paul received his early choral training as a young chorister with the Toronto Children’s Chorus under Jean Ashworth Bartle. He has sung with the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir under Robert Cooper, Victoria Scholars under Dr. Jerczy Cichocki, and as the Baritone lead with St. Clement’s Anglican Church for over 10 years under Thomas Fitches. Paul will be singing the baritone solos our featured work: Romancero Gitano.
